Overhead Power Services

We provide comprehensive high and low voltage overhead powerline solutions throughout Western Australia to both remote and metro locations.

Overhead Power Services Offered by GUS

We specialise in the installation, removal and maintenance of power poles and overhead conductors.

From pole inspections, pole, stay and hardware replacements, silicon washing and conductor re-stringing, our specialised teams can be there to build and maintain your overhead power network.

We can supply and install all materials required to build a complete new overhead line, and can also carry out an end-to-end demolition and removal service for decommissioned assets.

Our crews consist of Cert III Linesmen, Crane Operators and EWP Operators.
All of our personnel are Western Power accredited, and undergo regular refresher training in their fields.

Our overhead fleet includes late-model crane borer trucks, 14m EWP’s, and a number of hiab cranes, all compliance tested and equipped with the latest safety equipment and technologies. Our trucks are capable of going off-road, which means no pole work is off-limits.

Hv & LV Conductor Installation

HV & LV conductor installation, retensioning, maintenance, and removal service is provided by GUS on behalf of Western Power to maintain the overhead electricity network.

With supply and install options available, our Cert III linesman can work on Utility and Private lines throughout Western Australia.

HV & LV Switching

Our in-house Switching Operators allow us to provide an end-to-end power service to our clients.

We are able to program and facilitate power outages, raise VA permits & EAP’s, and carry out planned interruptions on the Western Power network.

We have industry compliant and regularly tested tooling, in addition to some of the most experienced personnel in the field. Holding a Cert III Distribution Switching, with LOU & HOU capabilities, our personnel are accredited and experienced during the construction and commissioning stage of all projects

Pole to Pillar

Pole to pillar installations are provided by GUS on behalf of Western Power.

This involves connecting an underground cable from a power pole to a pillar near the front of a property.

By installing a pillar this allows the resident to change from an overhead service to an underground service.

By going underground it benefits a property owner by having a more secure power service in inclement weather along with removing the need to prune trees.

GUS installs this cable to the pillar from the pole and connects using our Jointing services team.

To complete this connection to a home meter box the resident will need to organise an electrician.

Street Light Installation

As a fully accredited Western Power contractor we can perform installations, maintenance, replacements, and attend to emergency faults.

Our teams are able to install streetlights up to 18m tall with a direct buried or concrete/rag-bolt design, inclusive of all augering, internal wiring and commissioning.

We can even offer a supply & install package for local councils and new subdivisions. We can provide a range of streetlights, from standard steel galvanised to decorative lights compliant with the council street furniture schemes.

We have access to multiple hiabs, pole augers and associated late-model equipment required to provide an end- to-end streetlight service.
